The reaons I love Jimbee

There are so many to list. Just when I think I have them all in my mind he does something else too cute for words.
Right now he is playing this board game I do not understand. Spencer started setting it up this morning, waiting for Jim. So Jim has given up a night of yardwork to play with Sprout.
Last weekend on Sunday morning I was laying in bed while Jim was taking care of two of the dogs. I was having a flashback to a previous part of my life when if something needed to be done, I would have to do it. I was enjoying the ability to just lay there while somebody else did things. BUT THEN.......he came up with the Sunday newspapers and asked if I wanted him to make fresh coffee or if I wanted him to reheat yesterday's (sometimes I do that). Wow, not "Do you want me to make coffee?", but no....which way do you want it? Wow
Today the cats broke a couple glass bottles in the kitchen. Instead of cleaning it, I left it for Jim. He has asked me to not walk in rooms with broken glass, as I have a bad history with glass and my feet. So when he arrived home he cleaned it, and with a smile.
On mother's day he had a special book made for me. It was photos from over the years with the boys and I. That alone was great, but the most amazing part was he had duplicate made for MY mom.
There are the daily things like the way he takes care of the boys. There is the way he accepts me and all my crazy "issues" without judging me. Mostly it is just because he is my Jimbee

I should have taken BEFORE pictures

Spencer's room is just nasty all the time. That child wants to save EVERYTHING. So today I broke down and cleaned it again. I should be getting ready for my Tomboy Tools party that I am having tonight or for my open house I am having tomorrow, but NO....I cleaned his room. So, here are the after pictures.

Several months ago I ordered a computer side table for Zach. It finally arrived yesterday. I stole it for Spencer's room instead. Spencer needs a Lego table. So we set it up by the sliding door so he could look outside and we did it sideways so he would not be facing a wall. Then I removed his nightstand and put a bookcase that was in the guest room. We are using that as a nightstand, it gives him more storage space.

And from our garden....I love to garden

These are my favorite days....."harvesting". Spencer uses that word all the time and it makes me laugh. Well, one more post today for your viewing pleasure. These yummies are from our own garden!

Wiggles and giggles at Donna & Mark's

While at their house they fed us and they sent us home with fabulous (and organic) eats! So the first photo is of us digging up the potatoes. Next we see the potatoes all cleaned up and nice. Followed by a shot of the potatoes and the uber pile of beans too. Yes, the beans are all blanched and happy in their seal-a-meal bags in the freezer. The final shot is the end result. Mashed potatoes, yummy!

Fun day at Donna & Mark's house

Oh man did we have a blast. Her zucchini was way overgrown and not any good to eat...but it was good to throw. Zucchini throwing contest!!

4th of July

Spencer could not remember why we celebrated the 4th of July so he took a break from fireworks and googled it. He bounced around the driveway and yard. I counted, the longest period of time he held still was 15 seconds. Then we moved to the back of the car for extra comfort and he decided it was time to cuddle....ah....oh what is that we are looking at? Fire truck...uh oh!

Spencer does this little thing where he puts his hand on his face and the other on his leg and says "tee-hee" in a high pitched voice. I laugh and laugh.

We also have a photo of Jim trying to not get it on fire!

Taking pajama night to a whole new level

You know I love to wear pajamas. The whole getting dressed this is just entirely too much work. Spencer likes to go to the movies with a load of blankets, pillows, and wearing jammies. Last night we went to see Hancock....(wait for DVD) and we really went all out. I got a few odd looks, but mostly smiles. Notice Zach in the background......apparently he has no clue how we could possibly be related.

Airlie Farms in Monmouth

Yesterday we went to the most spectacular strawberry farm. Sadly, it was one hundred degrees outside!! Miserable weather, but what a neat-o place! The strawberries are grown in these vertical stacks. Made from styrofoam it is hydroponics at it's best. Plus, and this thrilled Spencer, they were organic! We took the ferry on the way home, stopping of course at Burgerville in Albany. Can't pass that exit without stopping!

Poodles, Ironman and more

Today is Mother's day. Spencer informed me this morning of his newest revelation. He has decided there needs to be a Children's Day. This was because I asked him to take my french toast plate to Jim for a refill. He said I was making him my slave. OKAY Spencer..........like every day of the year is not dedicated to Spencer. I love, truly love, how selfish little ones can be in their innocence.

We say Ironman today.........talk about B O R I N G!! It was pretty awful. The funniest part was Jim and I trying to figure out who Ironman's assistand was. Yeah, talk about both of us being dorks.

Jong is upstairs, mad at me (again!). I have asked him to not do Korean stuff on my laptop. Mr. Laptop has been through a lot and is tired. So, the Korean stuff tends to overload it. Well, after we went though several rounds of explaining how NO means NO and the Korean instant messenger, BuddyBuddy is not okay, he finally accepted it. Then he has been "checking his email". Well, I did some research and cyworld is pretty much a fluffed up 3-D myspace. It has big graphics and my computer can't take it. Took over an hour today of clearing things to make it work again. So frustrating.

Shaved to poodle today. Poor thing. I only made him bleed two times. Once was my fault, the other was an owee I hit. Poor Poodle!!! Here are before and after and a little bit more pictures.

Why Don't They Know How Good They Have It?

God forbid we have to go anywhere or do anything after school....if we do, the world will explode! I try so hard to get everything done before I pick up Spencer, but sometimes, somedays he has to come with me. Especially on days when say...he needs a haircut? Can't really go without him, ya know?

And on another note, why don't they realize how good they have it? Do they have to stay at after school care? NO. Do they go home to an empty house? NO. The mom picks him up and drops him off and rotates her entire life around him...and this is all he knows and thus expects, but I gotta say....one little thing not as planned and boy do I hear about it.

There is good news. The bunny loves me. Have you seen the bunny....here is a photo.
