A lesson in being persistent

As you all know, we have boys in this house. Boys, boys, boys! I get kinda frustrated. Where is the estrogen? Where is the pink?
.
I have encouraged Jim to steal babies for me. But............no! No babies for me.
.
For about two years now I have stopped and asked people if they wanted to maybe give me their babies. They always say "NO". I really don't understand. Why don't people share? Naomi always says "Sharing is Caring!".
.
You know how when you are in sales you are supposed to encourage yourself by remembering that every no is one step closer to a yes. Well, I am here to tell you IT IS TRUE.
.
After two years of asking people if they would give me their babies, I finally got a YES!!!!.
.
Last Sunday I was doing a tool party and there was the most adorable little girl there. As soon as I walked into the room she reached up and wanted me to hold her.
.
Long story short (super condensed version)...........she was in foster care and they were looking for a new home for her.
.
So today she came to live with us.
.
They always say the goal is to return them to their parents, but since the mom is pregnant again and they are already planning to take that baby from her when it arrives in May, the chances for them being reunited is not so great.
.
You can't tell how tiny she is from the photos, but I call her a mini toddler. It is like somebody took a shrink ray and zapped her. She is 17 months old and she wears 9 month clothing. I actually can't find her when she is walking next to me, she is THAT SMALL.
.
So, she and I had a great time buying pink clothes today and then Jim took the debit card away. Jim needs to learn how to have a good time.!
