Today's blog

Today I am writing about something I don't even really like, TELEVISION.
.
However, years ago I became addicted to Boston Legal. I think mostly it was Denny Crane. Denny Crane. He is insane and funny yet at the same time, so right. Republican. But deep down I think what there was also enjoyment in seeing the little glimpses of the man who was once Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise...he was so sexy!
.
The last couple season of Boston Legal have become so political. Right now we are watching season 4 (season 5 is on television right now). Alan spends most of his time insulting Bush and making nasty remarks about the government, and he is always on some political soapbox. Most of the time I disagree with his liberal views anyway.
.
This past season has just gone too far. They have a case in which a 15 year old is suing her school. They taught abstinence only and because of this she did not know how to acquire a condom and thus got HIV when having unprotected sex at the age of 15. How is it the school's liability? Totally ludicrous! Better thought...just don't have sex at 15?
.
Then came episode 9 where Alan and Denny sue the National Guard for not being there for a flood victim. This of course was the fault of the war in Iraq, which of course led to some insulting comments about the intelligence of our current president.
.
Luckily I fell asleep during episode 10. Where Clarence is losing his house after 2 missed mortgage payments because his rate adjusted over a period of time from 2% to 12%. First of all, there are limits on how frequently a rate can adjust, and mortgage companies don't foreclose after 2 missed payments. The story line was ludicrous. I am not even sure if I will watch the end of it, I am going to get so annoyed. Alan was of course in the middle of all of it. Standing in the bank yelling terms like "predatory lender" and "sub prime crisis". The story line is only further insulting by the fact that the homeowner is a lawyer. Give me a break! And the really dumb part is when Clarence tells his woes to Alan and just hours (if that) later they are having a meeting with the bank and then quickly going to court. I, for one, have actually talked to banks in these cases and you are lucky to even have a phone answered in 2 hours. Now, granted, this was a local bank they went to,
but I would bet that bank only brokered the loan.
.
Lastly, how odd is it that the show is in it's last season? And even more odd, from what i understand, they are not even finishing the season, the last show is to air in December.
.
Irony time..... when our new president (ikes!) takes office in January, Boston Legal will no longer be on the air maliciously slamming our government and policies made therein. Coincidence? I don't think so! I think the whacked out liberals writing these scrips don't want to make is obvious by immediately agreeing with governmental decisions nor would they dare to insult their precious Democratic leader. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Remember there is a difference between loosing and losing. Clarence was losing, not loosing. This was obviously done on purpose, right?????
